This Privacy Policy explains how Aux Ltd (“Aux”, “we”, “us”) handles information in connection with the Bitrot mobile application (the “App”). Aux Ltd is the data controller for the limited information described below.

This document is a plain-language template describing how the App works today. It is provided for your convenience and does not constitute legal advice. Please have it reviewed by a qualified professional before publishing.
Summary
- Bitrot has no user accounts and does not require you to sign up or log in.
- Your photos are edited entirely on your device. We never upload, collect, or store your images on our servers.
- We use Google Analytics for Firebase to collect anonymous, aggregated usage statistics (for example, which tools are used) to help us improve the App.
- Purchases are handled by Apple. We do not receive or store your payment details.
- Optional iCloud sync stores your projects in your own private iCloud account (provided by Apple). We cannot access that data.
1. Information we do not collect
- We do not collect your name, email address, or account credentials (there are no accounts).
- We do not upload, view, or store the photos or projects you create. All image processing happens locally on your device.
- We do not sell your personal information.
2. Information collected automatically (analytics)
To understand how the App is used and to fix problems, we use Google Analytics for Firebase (provided by Google). This collects anonymous usage and diagnostic data, which may include:
- App events and interactions (e.g., an effect applied, a project saved, an export completed) — recorded without any image content.
- Approximate, non-precise usage metrics such as session counts and feature usage.
- Device and technical information such as device model, operating system version, app version, language, and a randomly generated, resettable identifier used only for analytics.
This information is not linked to your identity and is used only in aggregate to improve the App. You can reset the analytics identifier at any time by reinstalling the App, and you can limit ad/analytics tracking through your device’s Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking / Apple Advertising controls.
3. Purchases
Bitrot offers optional Supporter subscriptions and a one-time Lifetime purchase. All payments are processed by Apple through the App Store using your Apple ID. We never receive your credit card or payment information. Apple’s handling of your data is governed by Apple’s Privacy Policy.
4. iCloud sync (optional)
If you are a Supporter and enable iCloud Sync, your Bitrot projects are stored in your personal iCloud account and synced across your devices by Apple. This data resides in Apple’s iCloud infrastructure under your control; Aux Ltd cannot access it. iCloud is governed by Apple’s terms and privacy policy.
5. Photo library access
The App requests access to your photo library only to let you import photos to edit and save your exported images. This access is used solely at your direction and images are processed on-device.
6. Fonts
The App renders text using open-source fonts (licensed under the SIL Open Font License) bundled with the App, and certain fonts provided by the operating system. Font rendering happens on-device and does not transmit any data.
7. Third parties
The third parties that may process limited data in connection with the App are:
- Google — Analytics for Firebase (anonymous usage/diagnostics). See Google’s Privacy Policy.
- Apple — App Store purchases and optional iCloud sync. See Apple’s Privacy Policy.
8. Data retention
Because we do not collect personal accounts or your content, there is no personal profile for us to retain. Aggregated, anonymous analytics data is retained by Google according to our configured retention settings and Google’s policies.
9. Children’s privacy
Bitrot is not directed to children under the age of 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
10. Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example, under the EU/UK GDPR or the California Consumer Privacy Act), you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal information, or to object to certain processing. Because the App does not collect information that identifies you, we typically hold no personal data tied to you. If you have questions or requests, contact us at info@aux.ltd.
11. International users
We are based in the United Kingdom. Analytics data may be processed by Google in other countries under appropriate safeguards described in Google’s policies.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the “Last updated” date at the top of this page.
